Cruiser Crash - I-93 South, Salem

On February 20, 2021 at approximately 0143hrs, Trooper R. BIFSHA was on patrol in a fully marked State Police cruiser when he observed a Maserati SUV almost crash into the rear of another vehicle. The Maserati then swerved left and then right sideswiping Trooper Bifsha’s Cruiser.

The operator of the Maserati SUV was identified as Alex Alvarez, 26 YOA, .Haverhill MA.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Alvarez had been driving under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and was arrested.

No injuries were sustained in this crash.
