Driver Apprehended By State Police K-9 After Pursuit On I-93
Troop D
HOOKSETT, N.H. – A Manchester man was taken into custody following a pursuit on Interstate 93.
At 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, a State Trooper assigned to the Troop G barracks was conducting a commercial motor vehicle inspection on I-93 northbound in Hooksett when the driver of a blue 2013 Dodge Dart abruptly pulled over nearby. The driver of the Dodge then exited his vehicle and began shouting erratically. When the Trooper tried to approach, the driver ran back to the car and drove away, heading north on I-93 at high speeds.
Soon after, the same Dodge was seen traveling more than 100 mph in the high-speed breakdown lane in Bow by Trooper First Class Derek Myrdek of Troop D. Trooper First Class Myrdek attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver accelerated to speeds above 100 mph and showed no indications of slowing. The driver continued on I-93 through Concord and, at times, was observed driving toward other vehicles and endangering other drivers.
As Troopers continued the pursuit, the driver of the Dodge exited I-93 at Exit 17 and headed toward Boscawen on Route 3, continuing to drive toward oncoming traffic and forcing other drivers off the road. The driver ultimately lost control of the vehicle at a traffic rotary and drove off the road before striking a snowbank. The driver was then immediately apprehended by K-9 Ragnar, Trooper First Class Myrdek’s partner.
The driver of the Dodge was identified as Jason Marcoux, 48, of Manchester. Marcoux has been charged with 10 counts of felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, as well as charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, disobeying an officer, driving after suspension for DUI and reckless driving.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Boscawen Police Department and the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact Trooper First Class Myrdek at (603) 223‐8944 or Derek.M.Myrdek@dos.nh.gov.
