Driver Involved In Reckless Pursuit Arrested
Troop D
HOPKINTON, N.H. – A Merrimack man was arrested earlier today in Concord after fleeing the scene of a pursuit last night in Hopkinton.
At 11 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, State Police dispatch was notified that officers from Hillsboro, Henniker, and Hopkinton’s police departments were pursuing a vehicle on Route 202/9 after the driver refused to pull over for a traffic stop for traveling at a high rate of speed.
Troopers assigned to Troop D and Troop B barracks responded to assist. The suspect vehicle, identified as a 2015 Toyota Tundra, continued onto Route 77 in Weare, eastbound toward Dunbarton. As the pursuit reached the intersection of Routes 77 and 13, Trooper Kyle Cotnoir successfully deployed spike strips and deflated one of the Toyota’s tires. Despite having one tire deflated, the driver of the Toyota continued to flee.
State Police took over as the primary pursuing agency as the Toyota entered Bow and continued to flee into Concord, back into Bow, and onto Interstate 89 northbound. Just before reaching the Hopkinton town line, an officer from the Hillsboro Police Department successfully deployed spike strips again, deteriorating the Toyota's tires, and bringing the vehicle to a full stop around mile marker 6. The driver then fled on foot into the woods while a passenger was detained. A State Police K-9 responded to the scene to locate the driver, identified as Eric Dearborn, 35, of Merrimack.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears that Dearborn fled through the woods and was later picked up by an unknown person. Warrants for Dearborn’s arrest were issued on charges of disobeying an officer and reckless operation.
Dearborn was taken into custody by the Concord Police Department this morning in Concord, after another attempt to flee, on the issued warrants and a charge of resisting arrest.
Troopers were assisted in this case by members of the Hillsboro Police Department, the Henniker Police Department, the Hopkinton Police Department, and the Concord Police Department. All aspects of the case remain under investigation. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Trooper Kelsey Scott at 603-223-4381 or Kelsey.P.Scott@dos.nh.gov.
