Drowning Investigation - Milton Three Ponds

Milton, NH – On Tuesday, May 10, 2022, New Hampshire State Police - Marine Patrol investigated the drowning of a male who was fishing on Milton Three Pond (North East Pond) in a canoe, not wearing a life jacket. At approximately 9:18 AM witnesses called 911, reporting that a man was in the water holding on to his canoe. At some point the man let go of the canoe and attempted to swim to shore. Witnesses state he swam approximately 8 feet and then went under water and never resurfaced again. An on looker immediately swam out to the location where the victim disappeared in an attempt to locate him but was unsuccessful.

At approximately 1:00 PM Marine Patrol officers located the victim and made the recovery. Other assisting agencies include Milton Police and Fire and NH Fish and Game.

The victim is identified as Sonethanong Khongsouvankham, born in 1978, from New Market, NH.
