Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Littleton

Crashed motorcycleLittleton, New Hampshire – On Monday, August 22, 2022, at approximately 9:59 AM, the New Hampshire State Police Troop F barracks took a report of a single motorcycle crash on Interstate 93 North in the town of Littleton. When first responders arrived, they observed a single motorcycle found on its side on the shoulder of I-93 North, at mile marker 124.2

On-scene investigation revealed that a 2003 Harley Davidson being operated by a Kerry J. O’Connell, Age: 66, Lincoln, NH, was traveling northbound, while towing a small trailer, which started to sway uncontrollably behind the motorcycle. This is believed to have caused the motorcycle to drift off the westbound shoulder of the roadway and subsequently crash.

Mr. O’Connell was given medical attention by first responders, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

New Hampshire State Police - Troop F was assisted on scene by members of the Littleton Police Department, Littleton Fire Rescue, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

At this time, the investigation is ongoing, but it appears that the trailer in tow broke away from the motorcycle, which caused the motorcycle to subsequently lose control and crash. The trailer did not appear to be safely connected to the motorcycle in a DOT approved manner.
