I-95 Drive To Save Lives- April 2021 Campaign

Colonel Nathan Noyes, Director of the New Hampshire State Police, and Lieutenant John Hennessey, Commander of the New Hampshire State Police Troop A barracks announce participation in the I-95 Drive To Save Lives- April 2021 Campaign.  This campaign’s operational goal is to achieve increased high visibility traffic enforcement across the approximate 1,920 miles of the Interstate 95 corridor from Maine to Florida.  This initiative will be a contributing effort to support the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) initiative, “The Drive to Save Lives Campaign” and its goal of reducing traffic deaths and injuries across the United States.  The emphasis of this initiative will be to change high-risk behaviors of motorists, such as distracted driving, impaired driving, speeding, and the failure of motorists and passengers alike to wear seatbelts.

The New Hampshire State Police would like to encourage all motorists to make safe decisions and help us keep the roadways safe by driving responsibly and taking the following steps:

• Designate a sober driver, call a friend, or plan to use public transportation or a ride sharing service.
• Put down your electronic device. Keep your eyes on the road. Distraction is anything that keeps your eyes and attention from the road. Designate a passenger to make phone calls or send texts on your behalf. Pull over to a safe location, park and then make your phone call or answer your phone.
• Slow down and please observe the posted speed limit at all times.
• Seatbelts save lives.  Buckle up every trip, every time.

State Troopers assigned to Troop A regularly participate in enhanced enforcement initiatives throughout the year in an ongoing effort to reduce poor driving habits through education, awareness, partnerships, and high visibility traffic enforcement.
