Jeep Explosion Leads To Brush Fire And Delays In Raymond
Troop A
RAYMOND, N.H. – A Jeep caught on fire and exploded on Route 101, causing a brush fire and traffic delays.
At 5:17 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, State Troopers assigned to the Troop A barracks responded to a car fire on Route 101 westbound in Raymond.
A preliminary investigation on the scene revealed that Robert Andrada, 43, of Londonderry, had been driving a 2018 Jeep Wrangler when it began to smoke. Andrada pulled over to the right side of the road and left the vehicle shortly before it caught on fire. The Jeep became fully engulfed quickly and later exploded, causing a brush fire.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
As the incident was happening, multiple drivers illegally backed down the highway against the flow of traffic and took restricted access crossovers, causing additional resources to be tied up. The New Hampshire State Police would like to remind drivers to obey all traffic laws to help prevent further damage to property or injury to people.
The incident resulted in a closure of all Route 101 westbound lanes for approximately one hour while emergency crews extinguished the fires.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Raymond Police Department, New Hampshire Fish and Game, the Raymond Fire Department, and the Candia Fire Department. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact Trooper Dylon Sandstrom at Dylon.K.Sandstrom@dos.nh.gov.
