Man Arrested After Providing False Documents to the Division of Motor Vehicles - Dover

On March 31, 2021, members of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop G – Investigations Unit arrested Daniel Okai, 40, of Rutland, Massachusetts. Investigators had received information that Okai had brought a vehicle to be inspected by the New Hampshire State Police in order to be branded as a salvaged vehicle. The vehicle was rejected from the process due to improper paperwork. Further investigation revealed that Okai presented altered documents to the Division of Motor Vehicles in an attempt to obtain a New Hampshire salvage title.

An arrest warrant was obtained and Okai was taken into custody at the Troop D barracks in Concord without incident. He was charged with one count of Tampering with Public Records and one count of Unsworn Falsification. Okai was released on Personal Recognizance bail and will be arraigned on May 13, 2021, in the 7th Circuit – District Division – Dover Court.

The New Hampshire State Police Troop G – Investigations Unit is comprised of highly skilled Troopers who are assigned to the Division of Motor Vehicles. They have received specialized training in the detection of fraud as well as fraudulent documents and are often called upon for their expertise in this area.
