Man Deceased After Crash In Hill

Troop D

HILL, N.H. – The driver of a box truck was found deceased after a crash in Hill early this morning.

At 12:49 a.m. today, Dec. 19, 2024, the New Hampshire State Police received a report of a single-vehicle crash on Route 3A near High Ridge Road. When State Troopers assigned to the Troop D barracks and emergency medical personnel arrived, they found a white 2003 Mitsubishi FE639 off the road and down an embankment at a tree line.

The driver and sole occupant of the box truck, identified as Michael Kaar, 36, of Hill, was pronounced dead at the scene. At this point in the investigation, speed appears to be the primary factor in the crash.

New Hampshire Route 3A was shut down in both directions for approximately one hour before one lane was closed for approximately three hours. Troop D was assisted at the scene by members of the Bristol Police Department, Briston Fire Department, Hill Fire Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

Anyone who may have further information related to the crash is asked to contact Trooper Conor Davis at Conor.K.Davis@dos.nh.gov.
