Operation Turnpike Protection

Merrimack, New Hampshire – Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop B barracks worked in conjunction with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department to conduct a high visibility patrol on the Everett Turnpike on the morning of December 20, 2022. All involved in this initiative stopped numerous vehicles for various violations.

During the course of the patrol, Troopers focused mainly on aggressive drivers and "Jessica's Law". Troopers reminded drivers of "Jessica's Law" which requires that all snow and ice be cleaned off your vehicle before taking to the roadway. During the course of the initiative Troopers made two arrests, both of which stemmed from excessive speeds:

  • Flavia Maria Nascimento Gonzaga, age 38, of Nashua, NH was summonsed to court for Operating without a license and Speed.
  • Rishikesh Puntikura, age 22, of Manchester, NH was arrested for driving without a license, suspended registration and speed 25+ over the speed limit.

This enhanced enforcement effort will continue through the month of December and into the New Year with the goal of improving safety during the commuting hours.
