Reckless Driving Of Commercial Motor Vehicle

WAKEFIELD, N.H. – A commercial truck driver who was caught on camera driving on the wrong side of the road to pass other vehicles has turned himself in after a State Police investigation.
On the evening of Dec. 3, 2024, State Troopers assigned to the Troop G Motor Carrier Enforcement Unit received a report about a reckless commercial truck driver on Route 16 in the town of Wakefield. The report included a video recording from an in-vehicle digital camera, which showed a white 2014 Freightliner hauling a dumpster crossing the double solid yellow line into oncoming traffic to pass another vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, warrants were issued for the driver, identified as Steven MacDonald, 66, of Pepperell, Massachusetts, on charges of reckless driving, speeding, highway markings, and limitations on overtaking on the left.
MacDonald turned himself in on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, and was released on personal recognizance bail. He has been ordered to appear in Ossipee District Court on Jan. 29, 2025, at 9 a.m.
