Shooting - Rumney

On 1 March 2022 at approximately 3:10pm the NH State Police Dispatch Center received information that an adult male had been shot at the US Post Office in Rumney. State Police Troop F, Major Crime Unit, US Forest Service Law Enforcement and Rumney Fire Department responded to the scene.

The shooter has been identified as Dean Kenneson of Rumney, NH.

Kenneson and the victim knew one another and they engaged in a verbal altercation in the post office parking before Kenneson fired a handgun at the victim. The victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his torso.

Kenneson was arrested and is being charged with:

  • 1st degree assault
  • 2nd degree assault
  • Reckless Conduct with a Firearm

Kenneson was held on preventative detention and is scheduled for arraignment 02 March 2022 in the Grafton County Superior Court.

This is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the general public.
