Unresponsive Kayaker - Great Pond, Kingston - Updated

On Saturday, September 5, 2021 at approximately 11:58 AM, New Hampshire State Police – Marine Patrol received a call regarding a kayaker who was found wearing a life jacket but unresponsive in the water on Great Pond in Kingston.  At the time of the call, Good Samaritans were attempting to get the adult female to shore and had begun performing CPR.  

When emergency responders arrived, they transported the victim to Exeter Hospital.  She was pronounced deceased on September 6, 2021.  She was identified as Mary Lou Poirier, age 60, of Plaistow, NH.  The incident remains under investigation at this time.  Anyone who has further information related to this accident or who witnessed it is encouraged to contact Sgt.
