Wrong-Way Driver Arrested For DWI

SANBORNTON, N.H. – A Massachusetts woman faces multiple charges after driving the wrong way on Interstate 93.

Just before 1 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, State Police dispatch began receiving reports of a car traveling south in the northbound lanes of I-93. Initial callers reported the car in Ashland. Additional callers reported the vehicle at high speeds in the left lane, headed south.

An officer from the Sanbornton Police Department was able to find and stop the driver. Upon arrival on the scene, Trooper Benjamin Olmstead conducted an investigation and arrested the driver, identified as Grace E. Dionne, 22, of North Chelmsford, Massachusetts, on charges of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and driving while intoxicated. 

Dionne was later released on personal recognizance and has been ordered to appear in Franklin District Court at a later date.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Sanbornton Police Department and Rusty’s Towing & Recovery.
