Arrest Made In Portsmouth Assault Case; Additional Warrants Issued

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – On Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023 at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers from the Portsmouth Police Department responded to a report of a fight at a diner on Fleet Street in the city of Portsmouth. Upon arrival, Portsmouth officers made contact with several subjects, including Aaron Goodwin, 45, of Eliot, Maine, who was identified as a former Portsmouth police officer. Based upon this conflict, the Portsmouth Police Department requested assistance from the New Hampshire State Police to investigate the assault and all circumstances surrounding the incident.

As a result of the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for Aaron Goodwin, Kevin Goodwin, 42, of Dundalk, M.D., and Shannon Goodwin, 37, of Dundalk, M.D. The arrest warrants issued for Aaron Goodwin and Kevin Goodwin are for the charges of simple assault (Class A Misdemeanor) and disorderly conduct (Violation). The arrest warrant issued for Shannon Goodwin is for 3 counts of simple assault (Class A Misdemeanors) and disorderly conduct (Violation).

On Friday, March 15, 2024, Aaron Goodwin voluntarily surrendered himself to the New Hampshire State Police. He was processed and released on personal recognizance bail with a court date scheduled for April 22, 2024 in Portsmouth District Court. State Police is coordinating arrangements to take Kevin Goodwin and Shannon Goodwin into custody on their outstanding warrants.

Officers from the Portsmouth Police Department, analysts from the New Hampshire Information and Analysis Center, Troopers from the Maryland State Police and the Strafford County Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.
