D.A.R.E.

The D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program is a kindergarten through high school program which deals not only with drug issues but life skills as well. It does this by providing students with factual information on drugs, gangs and violence and the consequences of becoming involved in high-risk behavior. D.A.R.E. teaches coping skills to resist the pressure to use drugs or to become involved in dangerous activities. It offers this in a school environment which fosters a positive relationship with a community-based police officer.

In 1989 the Illinois State Police certified several NH Troopers to teach DARE. NH State Troopers delivered DARE classes throughout NH from 1989 through 2015.

In 2005, the New Hampshire State Police founded the Northern New England Training Team, to include D.A.R.E Mentors from New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont.

D.A.R.E AMERICA Approved Website

The NH State Police works closely with DARE America to deliver the most up to date curriculum and content to officers being certified.

The New Hampshire D.A.R.E. Coordinator’s office at State Police Headquarters serves as the general administrator for the state program. The state coordinator is responsible for providing technical assistance, coordinating program evaluations, facilitating training and processing D.A.R.E. financial matters.

D.A.R.E. New Hampshire exists solely on donations and grants. Most people think there is a line item budget for this program and that is not the case. If you are interested in making a donation to the D.A.R.E. program, please make your check payable to D.A.R.E. NH and 100% of your donation will be used to train D.A.R.E. officers across the state.

Our major fundraiser is our Annual State Police D.A.R.E. Classic 5K Road Race.
