Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver Arrested for DUI

New London, New Hampshire – On March 11, 2023, at approximately 11:25 PM, New Hampshire State Police received a complaint from a concerned motorist about a tractor-double trailer that was traveling all over the road and had possibly struck a guardrail on I-89 northbound in the town of Warner.

The New London Police Department was able to locate the driver as he exited the interstate at exit 11 and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Trooper McGrath from the New Hampshire State Police Troop D Barracks arrived shortly after and conducted a roadside investigation reference possible impairment of the driver.

The lone operator was identified as Thomas Hawk, Age: 64, Newburgh, NY.

After the roadside investigation was completed, Hawk was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated and open container. Hawk was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear at the Newport District Court on April 11, 2023, at 8:00 AM.

New Hampshire State Police Troop D was assisted on scene by New Hampshire State Police Troop G – Motor Carrier Unit, the New London Police Department and SG Reed Towing.
