Fatal Crash Investigation On I-93 In Windham

Update #2 - 4:25 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2024

WINDHAM, N.H. – The New Hampshire State Police is releasing additional information regarding a fatal crash that occurred yesterday on Interstate 93 in Windham.

On June 4, 2024, at 9:54 a.m., State Troopers from the Troop B and Troop G barracks responded to I-93 in the area of mile marker 5.6 for a report of a rollover crash involving serious injuries. Troopers responded, along with fire and medical personnel from the Windham Fire Department. Upon arrival, a white GMC Envoy was located on its side and partially in the left lane of I-93 North. The driver of the Envoy, identified as Matthew Woo, 51, of Allenstown, had been thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased.  

Further investigation determined that Woo had been driving the Envoy on the southbound side of I-93 when the Envoy sideswiped a flatbed style Mack truck, operated by Giani Cancellieri, 31, of Brookline, New Hampshire. 
Woo’s vehicle then exited the left side of the road and rolled over through the median, before coming to rest along I-93 North. Cancellieri remained on scene and was uninjured.

The New Hampshire State Police and Windham Fire Department were assisted at the scene by members of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. Multiple northbound and southbound lanes had to be closed during the crash investigation. All lanes reopened by 12:40 p.m.

Update #1 - 12:18 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2024

WINDHAM, N.H. – State Troopers have concluded their on-scene work and all lanes have been reopened on the northbound and southbound sides of I-93.

The preliminary investigation indicates the crash occurred on the southbound side of I-93. The victim was located on the northbound side.  

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing. Additional information will be released when appropriate.

WINDHAM, N.H. – A fatal crash investigation is underway on Interstate 93 in Windham. Traffic in the area is disrupted. 

At 9:54 a.m. today, Tuesday, June 4, State Troopers responded to a report of a rollover crash on I-93 northbound between exits 2 and 3 in Windham. When they arrived, they found an adult male deceased at the scene.

Members of Troop B and Troop G have responded. During the investigation, northbound traffic has been limited to the breakdown lane. Drivers should expect potential delays and avoid the area if possible.
