Fatal Crash Involving Impaired Driver

SANBORNTON, New Hampshire – On December 15, 2023, at approximately 10:28 p.m., New Hampshire State Police received several calls of a two-vehicle crash on I-93 southbound at mile marker 63 in the town of Sanbornton.

Troopers arrived and located an Audi Q5 approximately 20 feet down the embankment to the right and a Volkswagen Jetta approximately 100 feet south and off into the median. The driver of the Audi Q5 was identified as:

Kristina Perry
Age: 38
Franklin, NH

The operator of the Volkswagen Jetta was identified as:

Gabriel Anthony 
Age: 24
Pittsfield, NH

Gabriel Anthony was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the Audi Q5 was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Initial information at the scene indicated that ANTHONY’s vehicle was disabled in the right-hand breakdown lane, and he was outside of his vehicle when he and his vehicle were struck by PERRY’s vehicle. 

During the course of this crash investigation, PERRY was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

PERRY was held without bail and is scheduled to appear at the Belknap Superior Court on Monday, December 18, 2023.

Due to the crash, one lane of the interstate was shut down for approximately 6 hours. New Hampshire State Police Troop D was assisted on scene by the New Hampshire State Police CAR Unit, Sanbornton and New Hampton Fire Departments, Sanbornton Police Department, New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and several bystanders.
