Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash - Interstate 293 North, Manchester

On August 28, 2021 at approximately 12:30am, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks in Bedford responded to a motor vehicle crash on I-293 North in Bedford at mile marker 4.4. Troopers arrived to find that a 2016 GMC Terrain, Color; White, had crashed into the nose portion of the guardrail on the right side of the roadway and subsequently veered off to the left, striking the concrete jersey barrier. The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage.

Inside the vehicle, Troopers attempted to render aid to the driver and passenger who were both unconscious upon their arrival. The driver was identified as Sullivan, Brianna E., 36 YOA, Nashua NH.

The passenger was identified as Lopez, Julio A., 36 YOA, Litchfield NH.

Sullivan was rushed to the Elliot Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Lopez was transported to the Elliot hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

All aspects of the crash are under investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that alcohol and distracted driving are the causal factors in the crash.

The left travel lane remained closed for approximately two hours while State Police personnel processed the scene.

Assisting New Hampshire State Police were members of the Bedford Fire Department and EMS and members from the Merrimack New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
