booking photo of Stephen StangleOn October 8, 2019 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Trooper First Class Christopher Prenaveau of the New Hampshire State Police – Troop G, was attempted to serve a Habitual Offender notice to Stephen Stangle, age 55, of Manchester, NH. Habitual Offender notices are served to subjects so that their driving record may be reviewed in order to determine if they qualify for an extended license suspension as their continued driving may pose a danger to the public.

TFC Prenaveau called Stangle and notified him that he would like to meet in order to serve him paperwork. Stangle agreed and advised TFC Prenaveau to meet him in in Hopkinton, NH where he was building a home. While driving to meet Stangle, TFC Prenaveau observed a vehicle pull out of the address where Stangle told TFC Prenaveau to meet him and proceed down the roadway. The vehicle quickly pulled into another driveway a short distance down the street. As the vehicle backed into the driveway, it collided with a tree, lightly hitting it. The driver quickly exited the vehicle and began walking down the street. After a brief discussion with the driver, TFC Perreault identified him as Stangle. Knowing Stangle's operating privileges were under suspension and that he was required to have an ignition interlock device installed in his vehicle, TFC Prenaveau placed Stangle under arrest.

Stangle was charged with Circumvention of an Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device as well as Operating After Suspension for DWI. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear for arraignment in the 6th Circuit – District Division – Concord Court on November 22, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.

The New Hampshire State Police Troop G was assisted by members of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop D. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact TFC Prenaevau at 603-223-8778.
