Initial News Release

SALISBURY, New Hampshire – On Sunday, February 25, 2024, State Troopers from the Troop D barracks responded to a residence in Salisbury, NH for a female party reporting that she had been receiving text messages from someone identifying themselves to be a Captain in the State Police. The person was attempting to gain information from the female and advised she was being monitored and her house was being watched, among other messages. The suspect was able to text particular things that led the female to believe the suspect was currently watching her. The person messaging this female was not a member of the State Police or any other law enforcement agency.

While receiving the text messages, the female party observed an unidentified person around her house and looking in her window on a video from her residential security camera. The Troopers were unable to locate the party on the property. Trooper Griffin initiated an investigation into the incident.

Throughout the investigation, Trooper Griffin was able to quickly identify a male suspect.  He applied for and was granted an arrest warrant for the suspect. The male was arrested and charged with False Personation (Felony B), Harassment (Misdemeanor A), Stalking (Misdemeanor A), Criminal Trespass (V) and Loitering/Prowling (V).

The name of the suspect in this case will not be released in efforts to protect the privacy and identity of the victim.
