Motor Vehicle Accident - Interstate 93 South, Windham

On February 8th, 2021 at approximately 8:00 AM, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks along with fire and medical personnel from the Windham Fire Department responded to the report of a single motor vehicle crash Interstate 93 South near miler marker 8.4 in Windham.

Upon arrival, it was determined that a 2018 Nissan NV2500 Van had lost control, entered the center median and struck the guard rail. The Nissan continued south for a short distance before coming to rest in the snow bank in the center median. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Robert Day, Age 69, Derry, NH.

As a result of the crash the operator was transported to the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH where he ultimately succumbed to a medical condition.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the accident is a result of the operator suffering from a medical condition, however, all aspects remain under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed it is asked to contact Trooper T. Repucci at Timothy.Repucci@dos.nh.gov or 603-223-8836.
