Motor Vehicle Crash Involving State Trooper Hopkinton

On February 5, 2018 at 6:15 a.m., Trooper First Class (TFC) Malilay was investigating a motor-vehicle accident on I-89 northbound in Hopkinton near Exit 5 when he was struck from behind by another motorist. The motorist was identified as, Mr. Mohamed Kamara, age 38, of Concord, NH.

TFC Malilay was on a straightaway at the time of the crash and he had his emergency blue lights on as well several flares deployed. Despite this, he was still struck Mr. Kamara.

Paramedics from the Hopkinton Fire and Rescue evaluated both TFC Malilay and Mr. Kamara at the scene and no injuries were reported.

Mr. Kamara failed to move over for a roadside emergency as required by law and he was given a summons for the offense.
