Motorcycle Operator Arrested for Traveling 171MPH and DWI
Hampton – On Sunday, May 21, 2023, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Troopers Brian Hanna and Seth Parker of the New Hampshire State Police Troop A barracks, were conducting routine traffic enforcement when Trooper Hanna observed a motorcycle traveling Eastbound at a high rate of speed in Exeter.
Trooper Hanna was able to initially “clock” the motorcycle at 120MPH before it accelerated up to 160MPH. Trooper Hanna was able to alert Trooper Parker, who was positioned well ahead of the motorcycle, and they coordinated a plan to stop the reckless operator. Once within view, Trooper Parker was able to able to obtain a speed recording of 171MPH. A traffic stop was initiated, and the operator was identified as Christopher Unghire, Age: 36, Port St. Lucie, FL.
Unghire was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with Reckless Driving, Reckless Conduct, and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled for arraignment in in Hampton Circuit Court on June 1, 2023.
