Reckless Driving Arrest - I-95 Hampton Falls

latoya hugg arrest photoAt approximately 0835 hours on February 21,2022 TFC Jay LaPointe of the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit was monitoring traffic from the State Police aircraft on I-95 Northbound in the Town of Hampton Falls. TFC LaPointe observed a 2017 Dodge Charger traveling at an extremely high rate of speed and clocked it at 127 MPH in the posted 65MPH speed zone. TFC LaPointe radioed to Troopers on the ground. The vehicle passed by the ground trooper’s location. It was subsequently stopped on I-95. The Subject was identified as LaToya Huff, Age 36, Hartford CT.

Sgt. Storm made contact with Huff. When asked why she was traveling at that speed. Smith stated that she did not realize that she was going that fast. Sgt. Storm charged her with Reckless Operation. Huff is due to appear in the Hampton Circuit Court to answer to this charge on April 21, 2022 at 0800.

The NH State Police Special Enforcement Unit regularly interdicts elevated speed violations and other aggressive driving behaviors. Its members patrol across the state often utilizing the State Police aircraft during commuter traffic periods and holiday travel times with the goal of keeping New Hampshire’s roadways safe for all residents and visitors.
