Reckless Driving Arrest, Spaulding Turnpike (Route 16), Rochester, NH

On Saturday, May 9, 2020, at approximately 12:03 pm, Trooper Taylor Griffin of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop-A barracks, was monitoring northbound traffic on Route 16, in the town of Newington. Trooper Griffin observed a grey Honda Pilot traveling northbound at a high rate of speed, and he subsequently clocked the vehicle at 90 miles per hour in a 50 mile per hour zone. Trooper Griffin was able to catch up to the vehicle in the city of Dover, where he conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified the female operator as Nicole George, age 31 from Dover, New Hampshire. Ms. George was issued a summons for her speed and released from the stop.

Approximately thirteen minutes after being released on a summons for speed, Trooper First Class Tim Sawyer of Troop-A, observed this same vehicle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed on Route 16 in the city of Rochester. Trooper First Class Sawyer clocked the vehicle on radar at 111 miles per hour in a 65 zone. Trooper First Class Sawyer conducted a motor vehicle stop, and the driver was again identified as Nicole George. She was placed under arrest and taken into custody by Trooper First Class Sawyer and Trooper Griffin, who had responded to assist with the motor vehicle stop. Based on information gathered during a roadside investigation, which led Troopers to believe Ms. George was involved in further criminal activity, the Troopers seized the vehicle and will be applying for a search warrant.

Ms. George was transported to the Rochester Police Department for processing, and during a search of her property incident to arrest, Troopers located approximately 40 grams of heroin/fentanyl, and a small amount of methamphetamine.

Ms. George was charged with Reckless Operation, and she was released on bail. She was issued a notice to appear in the 7th Circuit Dover District Court on June 16, 2020, at 8:15 am. Felony charges will be forthcoming in the Strafford County Superior Court upon completion of the drug investigation.
