Motor Vehicle Crash & Arrest

Seabrook, New Hampshire – On Sunday, October 30, 2022 at approximately 3:04 AM, Troopers assigned to the New Hampshire State Police Troop A Barracks responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 95 South in the vicinity of the Massachusetts state line in Town of Seabrook.

Preliminary investigation at the scene of the crash revealed that a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, being operated by Samantha Famolare, age 30, of Peabody, Massachusetts, had been traveling on Interstate 95 South approaching the Massachusetts state line when the Chevrolet departed the left side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and rolled over. Eventually, the Chevrolet came to rest in an upright position in the center median in between two guardrail assemblies. Famolare was ultimately transported by ambulance to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Although all aspects of the crash remain under investigation, Troopers identified excessive speed and operator inattention as potential factors. Troopers also determined that Famolare's operator's license was under suspension. As a result of the investigation, Famolare was charged with Operating After Revocation or Suspension (Class A Misdemeanor) and Reckless Driving (Violation). In the interest of ensuring that Famolare received the necessary treatment for injuries sustained in the crash, Famolare was issued summons and released into the care of the hospital pending an appearance in the 10th Circuit Court – District Division – Hampton on December 22, 2022 at 8:00 AM.

Due to the crash, significant damage resulted to one guardrail assembly causing a large debris field. At the request of Troopers on scene, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation responded to assess the damage to the guardrail. Due to the limited accessibility of the location of the Chevrolet, personnel from New England Truck Center (NETC) summoned specialized equipment to assist in facilitating the removal of the Chevrolet. While Troopers investigated the scene and emergency personnel worked to remove the Chevrolet, along with the associated debris, the left lane of Interstate 95 South at the Massachusetts state line was closed to traffic for approximately one hour.

Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop A Barracks were assisted at the scene of the crash by personnel from the Seabrook Fire Department, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and New England Truck Center (NETC).

All aspects of this collision remain under investigation by Trooper Stephen Galvin and Trooper Cameron Vetter of the New Hampshire State Police Troop A Barracks. Anyone with information pertaining to this crash is asked to contact Trooper Galvin at Stephen.M.Galvin@dos.nh.gov or Trooper Vetter at Cameron.S.Vetter@dos.nh.gov or by calling the New Hampshire State Police Headquarters Communications Unit at (603) 223-4381.
