Serious Bodily Injury Crash Interstate 93 South

On 8/30/2021 at approximately 8:20 P.M. the New Hampshire State Police – Troop D received a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a black Nissan Pathfinder on Interstate 93 South in the area of mile marker 44.6 in Canterbury, NH.  

Callers passing by reported a black 2017 Nissan Pathfinder into the trees on the right side of the roadway. Multiple citizens stopped to assist and check for injuries. Once on scene Troopers found one male operator, unconscious and trapped in the vehicle. They began trying to extract the driver, shortly followed by the response of Concord Fire and EMS as well as Canterbury Fire and EMS. Concord and Canterbury Fire extracted the operator and began administering medical aid. The operator was transported to Concord Hospital to be evaluated further.

The crash remains under investigation at this time and, the identity of the operator is being withheld.   

Due to the severity of the crash, the right lane on Interstate 93 South in the area of mile marker 44.6 was shut down for approximately 3.5 hours. Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office, Concord Fire and EMS, as well as Canterbury Fire and EMS assisted NH State Police on scene.

Initial investigations show the operator may have suffered a medical emergency while driving. No other vehicles or occupants were involved in this crash.
