State Police Cruiser Accident - Route 95, Greenland

Damaged vehicle

On Thursday, March 3, 2022, at approximately 11 pm, Trooper Hervieux of New Hampshire State Police Troop A, was traveling northbound on Interstate 95 in the Town of Greenland, responding to a call when her cruiser was struck by a tractor trailer tire. It appears a tire became dislodged from a tractor trailer traveling southbound on Interstate 95. The tire crossed the median and struck Trooper Hervieux’s cruiser while she was traveling northbound, causing extensive damage.  Trooper Hervieux was able to maintain control of the cruiser and bring it safely to a stop without striking other vehicles.

Trooper Hervieux was transported to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries sustained in the crash.

The tractor trailer continued on without stopping and at this point has not been identified. The tire was recovered and is being held as evidence. This accident remains under investigation by Sgt. Matthew Locke.  Anyone with information pertaining to this collision is asked to contact Sgt. Locke, NH State Police/Troop A at (603) 223-8490, or at Matthew.T.Locke@dos.nh.gov.
