State Police K9 Locates Vehicle Theft Suspect

Troop B

NASHUA, N.H. – At approximately 1 a.m. today, Thursday, May 30, State Troopers from the Troop B barracks received a call regarding a disabled vehicle on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in the area of Exit 2. Trooper Perciballi was dispatched to assist.

During Trooper Perciballi’s interaction with the vehicle’s occupants, a man ran off after being questioned about his identity. Trooper Perciballi was able to identify the man as Richard Kopycinski, 42, of Lowell, Massachusetts, and learned Kopycinski had a felony warrant for theft of a vehicle out of Plaistow.

Troopers began searching for Kopycinski and launched a K9 team. The K9 was able to successfully track Kopycinski and located him after approximately 30 minutes. When encountered by the K9, Kopycinski surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

Kopycinski was held on preventative detention at Valley Street Jail pending an arraignment scheduled for today.
