State Police Launch Successful New Year's Day Initiative on Interstate 95

GREENLAND, New Hampshire – On January 1, 2024, the New Hampshire State Police implemented a traffic enforcement initiative on New Year's Day, utilizing the New Hampshire State Police airplane, on Interstate 95 in the Town of Greenland.

This operation aimed at ensuring the safety of motorists and enforcing traffic regulations.  The enforcement initiative resulted in the detection of numerous motor vehicle violations, leading to arrests and summonses.

During the initiative, the New Hampshire State Police airplane monitored traffic on Interstate 95, allowing for enhanced detection of potential violations. From 8-11 a.m., a total of 64 motor vehicle violations were identified.  Additionally, Troopers made two arrests. One arrest was made for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), 
emphasizing the State Police zero-tolerance approach towards impaired driving.

Age: 21

Martinez was arrested and bailed with a court date to appear in the 10th Circuit Court - Hampton District on January 18, 2024.

Another arrest was made for Possession of a False Government Identification. This subject was identified as: 

Nico Dicenso
Age: 20
Saugus, MA

Dicenso was arrested and bailed with a Court date to appear in the 10th Circuit Court - Hampton District on February 8, 2024.

Troopers issued two reckless operation summonses for speeds exceeding 100 MPH. This highlights the commitment to curbing dangerous driving behaviors that pose a significant risk to the safety of all roadway users. In addition, 15 violations of 90 MPH or greater were identified and addressed promptly, emphasizing the importance of adhering to speed limits.

The success of this New Year's Day initiative on Interstate 95 showcases the New Hampshire State Police's commitment to ensuring the safety of all motorists. This initiative was spearheaded by the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit. The Special Enforcement Unit is a specialized unit that focuses on enforcing traffic laws, promoting highway safety and reducing the number of crashes on New Hampshire roadways.  The Unit is equipped with the latest technology and tools to effectively monitor and enforce traffic laws, including the State Police aircraft.
