Stolen Vehicle/Pursuit

WARNER, NH – On May 5, 2022 at approximately 8:30 AM, New Hampshire State Police-Troop D was advised by Vermont State Police that a vehicle had been reported stolen in their jurisdiction and was believed to be in New Hampshire.  As information developed, the stolen vehicle was located and intercepted by troopers as it traveled south on Interstate 89 in Warner, NH.

Responding troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, which failed to stop, and proceeded to flee from troopers.  A brief pursuit was initiated which ultimately resulted in the suspect stopping in the area of Route 103 in Warner, NH and fleeing on foot.

New Hampshire State Police-Troop D, assisted by the Warner, NH Police Department and the Merrimack County Sheriffs Department were able to set up a perimeter and isolate the suspect in a wooded area near the scene. Troopers and officers in the area, along with the New Hampshire State Police Canine Unit were able to locate the suspect as he attempted to flee the area.

The operator of the vehicle was taken into custody without incident and was identified as:

BLANCHARD, William
Littleton, NH
Age: 32

BLANCHARD, in addition to several motor vehicle violations, is charged with the following:

Receiving stolen property
Reckless operation
Disobeying a Police Officer
Operating as a Habitual Offender
Violation of Parole

BLANCHARD refused bail and was held on the above charges. BLANCHARD is awaiting arraignment in the Merrimack County Superior Court.
