Wolfeboro Drowning Investigation

Marine Patrol

WOLFEBORO, N.H. – A man is deceased and a drowning investigation is underway at Carry Beach in Wolfeboro.

At 6:16 p.m. today, Thursday, June 6, the Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue Department received a call for a man who was found face down in the water at Carry Beach on Lake Winnipesaukee. Units responded to the area and, with assistance from local bystanders, got the man to shore for medical treatment. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the man was pronounced deceased.

Members of the Marine Patrol unit responded to investigate and, at this time, do not believe the death is suspicious. The deceased man has been identified as Thomas A. Lennon, 65, of Wolfeboro.

The Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue Department, Wolfeboro Police Department, and the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner assisted the Marine Patrol unit of the State Police at the scene.

All aspects of the incident remain under investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Marine Patrol Officer Michelle Gallant at (603) 293-2037 or Michelle.L.Gallant@dos.nh.gov.
