Motor Vehicle Crash Results in DWI Arrest

Bedford, New Hampshire – On January 8, 2023 at approximately 8:30 PM, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks in Bedford responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash along Interstate 293 North at mile marker 4.6 in the town of Bedford.

Wrong-Way Driver Arrested

Bedford, New Hampshire – On December 23, 2022 at approximately 1:30 AM, State Police received reports of a silver sedan traveling the wrong way on Interstate 293 in Manchester. The initial report indicated that a vehicle had entered I-293 from the Granite Street exit traveling southbound in the northbound lanes.

The wrong-way vehicle managed to continue south onto the Everett Turnpike in Bedford, still traveling the wrong direction. Troopers were able to stop the vehicle in the area of mile marker 19.

Manchester, New Hampshire – On August 18, 2022 at approximately 10:10 PM, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks in Bedford responded to multiple reports of vehicles struck by construction equipment that had been thrown from Queen City Bridge into oncoming traffic.

Bedford Sobriety Checkpoint

Lieutenant Bryan Trask, Commander of the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks in Bedford, and Chief John Bryfonski, Chief of Police in Bedford, announce that during the week of September 2, 2019 State Troopers, Bedford Police Officers, and State Liquor Enforcement Personnel will conduct a Sobriety Checkpoint within the Bedford area.

Sobriety Checkpoints are an initiative approved by the NH Highway Safety Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which provides federal highway safety funds to support these initiatives.

Bedford Sobriety Checkpoint

During the hours of 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2019 through 3:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2019, New Hampshire State Troopers from Troop B in Bedford and officers of the Bedford Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Route 101 in Bedford.

The checkpoint was authorized by an order of the Hillsborough Superior Court and conducted under guidelines promulgated by the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.

A total of 267 vehicles and operators were screened, with 12 drivers being run through Field Sobriety Tests. Of those tested, 3 people were arrested:

Saturation Patrol, Manchester

On Friday, August 28, 2020 the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks in Bedford conducted a DWI Saturation Patrol throughout the greater Manchester area. DWI Saturation Patrols are an initiative approved by the NH Highway Safety Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and they are supported by federal highway safety funds.
